How to make a Ginger Spiced Hot Chocolate
Method
- Warm your milk of choice in a small saucepan over a medium heat. Sift in the cacao powder and stir until dissolved.
- Add the ground ginger and stir through the honey.
- Taste and adjust sweetness to your liking.
- To serve, pour into 2 warm glasses or mugs.
- Top with the whipped cream and sprinkle with shaved chocolate and a small pinch of ground ginger.
- Add a few ginger matchsticks, if using, then serve.
Tip: The hot chocolate base can be made ahead of time and simply warmed up to serve.
Optional: For a spicier version, try adding extra spices such as vanilla, cinnamon, cardamom or star anise.
