How to make Irishmisu

Method

  1. Stir Irish liqueur and coffee together, set aside. 
  2. In a large bowl, combine mascarpone cheese, icing mixture and custard, stirring until smooth and well blended.
  3. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until it becomes light and airy.
  4. Arrange a single layer of approximately 5 biscuits in the base of a glass bowl.
  5. Pour a third of a cup of coffee and Irish cream mixture over biscuits, ensuring they absorb all the liquid.
  6. Spread about a third of the mascarpone mixture over the soaked biscuits. 
  7. Continue layering until all ingredients are used.
  8. Dust the top with cocoa before serving.

Optional: Sprinkle crushed pistachios over the top to decorate. If using sponge fingers, reduce the amount of coffee soak by a third.
